A Rocky Road-inspired doughnut created by a member of the public has been rolled out to Wrights’ stores.
The treat, which was designed by Annie Williams from Stansfield, has been revealed as the first winner of the Wrights Food Group Doughnut of the Month competition. Williams was presented with four of the winning doughnuts and a £50 Wrights retail voucher at the company’s shop in Tunstall.
“I’ve always been a big fan of Wrights, so to see my doughnut idea being sold in the shops is an amazing feeling,” she said.
The competition, launched last month, will see six customers announced as winners, with their flavoured doughnuts being released one by one over the next few months. Customers entered the competition by visiting the Wrights’ Facebook page and sharing a post highlighting their doughnut creation.
“We have had a fantastic response to the competition and are looking forward to revealing even more flavours created by customers,” said Wrights retail and operations manager Julie Brereton.
