Canadian coffee chain Second Cup has revealed plans to open five new sites across the UK this year.
The Second Cup Coffee Company Inc. is set to launch in Putney, Harrow, Kensington, Cardiff and an as-yet unconfirmed location this summer.
In an opportunity for bakers, the Toronto-based chain also confirmed it is actively seeking new regional franchise partners for further UK development. The brand made its UK debut in 2014 in Manchester, which was followed by openings in Birmingham and on London’s Portobello Road.
Jim Ragas, president and CEO of Second Cup said: “We are very excited about our continuous UK expansion and can’t wait for all of the new cafés to open. Growth, quality and innovation have always been at the cornerstone of our brand.”
Second Cup opened its first café in Toronto, Ontario, in 1975 and over the past 40 years has expanded to over 30 regions worldwide including the United States, Iraq, Egypt, Cyprus, Romania and Pakistan.
There are now over 160 Second Cup cafes operating internationally.
