Philippe Huet has been selected as the new managing director for Cargill’s Cocoa business.
Huet, who has 17 years experience at Cargill, takes over from Harold Poelma, who will take up the role of managing director of Cargill Refined Oils Europe.
Huet said: “I am very much looking forward to my new role. Focusing on our customers will be a particular priority for me, ensuring we provide them with the best possible service, and with the support necessary for them to develop innovative solutions for their businesses.”
In 2005, Huet joined the management team of the Cargill’s Cocoa and Chocolate business as commercial director for the cocoa division. Most recently, he has overseen the integration of German chocolate manufacture Kakao Verarbeitung Berlin into the business.
The Netherlands-based chocolate producer has its UK operations located in Cobham, Surrey. Its Cocoa and Chocolate division produces customised ingredients for bakery and confectionery applications and is the second-biggest chocolate producer in Europe.
It includes products such as Gerkens cocoa powders, chocolate under the Wilbur, Peter’s and Veliche brands, as well as coatings, fillings, cocoa liquors and cocoa butters.
