Dawn Foods has launched lower fat and sugar mixes with the introduction of Chocolate and Plain Crème Cake Mixes.

The new ‘leaner’ products, which are available in 12.5kg packs, have a 30% reduction in sugar and fat, and only contain natural flavours and no artificial colours.

The mixes were launched in response to the current demand for less sugar and fat in bakery products, according to Dawn.

“With consumers increasingly on the lookout for healthier variations of their favourite foods, we have developed our great-tasting range of reduced-sugar and -fat Crème Cake Mixes to offer bakers a choice of products to meet consumer needs and tap into this growing market,” said Jacqui Passmore, marketing manager UK and Ireland for Dawn Foods.

“They are sure to be a hit with health-conscious consumers and are just as delicious as the traditional versions, even with a 30%-reduced sugar and fat content.”

In May 2017, Dawn announced the extension of its Premium Donuts range with a summer-themed Raspberry & Cream twist product.
