Swiss-based Emmi Group has created Emmi Desserts, a new brand identity uniting all its dessert manufacturing businesses.
This includes Mademoiselle Desserts, the sweet bakery specialist it purchased in 2024 which operates three UK sites in Maidenhead, Corby, and Taunton, and the northwest London-based English Cheesecake Company added as a bolt-on acquisition last year.
Backed by the scale and expertise of Emmi Desserts, the UK business is to expand its footprint across branded retail, premium private label, and foodservice, while broadening its portfolio through international synergies that give the UK market access to authentic dessert and sweet bakery creations from across Europe and beyond.
Emmi Desserts operates a network of 20 production sites across the six countries: France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, the UK, and the US. Around 3,600 employees serve retail, foodservice, and in-store bakery customers in more than 65 countries worldwide. The Desserts division accounted for 17% of Emmi Group’s sales in 2025 – the Lucerne-headquartered business also produces high-quality dairy products including speciality cheese, as well as ready-to-drink coffee and functional nutrition items.
Emmi Desserts is said to have created a strong growth platform across segments and channels, with a premium portfolio ranging from classic desserts such as tiramisu, lava cakes, and cheesecakes to modern formats like mini-beignets and cake pops, and local hero products such as flans, tres leches and mille-feuilles. By leveraging its global network, the brand can identify emerging trends early, accelerate innovation, and scale successful concepts to support its customers in building the category, it said.
“Emmi Desserts is built on something simple but powerful: bringing the craft and care of local dessert traditions to the world at scale,” commented Ricarda Demarmels, CEO of the Emmi Group. “This new identity reflects our ambition to raise the standard of premium desserts. We aim to lead this category – through quality, innovation, and responsibility at our core. I’m grateful to our teams for building this future together and for pushing the boundaries of what desserts can be.”
Sustainability and conscious indulgence are also key to the global strategy at Emmi Desserts, with plans to continuously improves production and packaging standards across all geographies driven by innovation and responsible sourcing. These are to be aligned with the standards at Mademoiselle Desserts, which has held B Corp certification for the past four years.
