Hovis has announced a two-year charity partnership with Alzheimer’s Society following a vote among its 3,000 employees.
The main focus of the partnership will be supporting Alzheimer’s Society Side-by-Side service, which aims to connect people with dementia to their communities again and support them to keep doing the things they love.
Hovis said it aims to raise funds through fundraising events for all Hovis colleagues to take part in.
“We are delighted to announce Alzheimer’s Society as our new charity of choice, as voted by our colleagues,” said Nish Kankiwala, chief executive officer at Hovis.
“Alzheimer’s Society fits perfectly with our brand: it plays a strong role within the community helping and supporting affected individuals, families and societies, by providing them with a sense of kindness and belonging, values which are at the heart of the Hovis brand.
“We are very proud to support Alzheimer’s Society and look forward to working with them over the next two years.”
Alzheimer’s Society said it was “thrilled” to have been selected as Hovis’ new charity partner.
“On behalf of all at Alzheimer’s Society, I would like to say a huge thank you for choosing to unite with us against dementia,” said Georgie Davies, part of the Alzheimer’s Society fundraising team.
“Hovis’ contributions to our Side-by-Side service will support people living with dementia to remain connected to their communities.”
