Around 100 jobs at The Cake Crew were under threat following an incident at its north Wales site this week.
According to the BBC News website, the bakery firm had a row with the landlord of the site, situated in the town of Bala in Gwynedd. Employees were locked out of the premises, and it is believed Baker Tilley, acting on behalf of the landlord, had removed property from the building during the period.
An agreement was reached between The Cake Crew and the landlord’s representative yesterday afternoon, with the firm continuing to operate as normal.
A spokesman for The Cake Crew told the BBC News website: “Thankfully this disappointing disruption has now been resolved and we are back in control of the facility and production has resumed. We apologise to customers and suppliers for any disruption this may have caused in the past two days, which has resulted from circumstances beyond our control.”
The Cake Crew produces a number of sweet bakery goods for supermarket and foodservice customers, including cupcakes, gingerbread men, Viennese swirls and tray cakes. The company was formed last September when Berwyn Bakery, which has been trading for more than 100 years, went into administration. The move helped to save around 70 jobs.
