The Cornish Bakery has been shortlisted for Employer of the Year in The Lloyds Bank National Business Awards.

The shortlist was finalised after more than 1,000 registrations were assessed. Sarah Austin, brand director of The Lloyds Bank National Business Awards, said: “All entries faced a rigorous judging process, finalists should feel incredibly proud.”

Despite it being a challenging time for retail, with the uncertainty of Brexit and essential shopping being done online, The Cornish Bakery has gone from strength to strength, according to founder Steve Grocutt. The business has 45 sites across the UK and has recently opened in Fowey, York, Keswick and Southwold.

Finalists for the business awards must now make presentations to a panel of judges and leading business luminaries. The winners will be revealed on 13 November.
