2 Sisters-owned The Pizza Factory has confirmed the loss of a major contract just weeks before a supply deal with Tesco ends.
Nottingham-based The Pizza Factory (TPF), which lists Tesco, Aldi and Marks & Spencer (M&S) as three key customers on its website, makes 1.2 million pizzas on average each week at its two sites.
In August last year, 2 Sisters announced TPF was losing its contract with Tesco, its largest customer, in February of this year.
Following the latest contract announcement, a spokeswoman from 2 Sisters told British Baker: “After a strategic review, one of our customers has announced plans to move future business. We’re in dialogue with colleagues, but it would be too early at this stage to speculate on the outcome.”
There is no confirmed exit date for the contract, but the process is not expected to take longer than 12 weeks. At the time of going to press, TPF did not wish to comment.
