Bulk food transport service provider Abbey Logistics Group has announced two new members to bolster its team.
Andrew Palmer has joined the group as non-executive director, while experienced marketing professional Michael Fox will take up the role of group marketing manager.
Fox has worked within business-to-business marketing and communications for the past 10 years. He will take responsibility for the planning, management and execution of Abbey’s marketing strategies, working closely with the company’s commercial teams, external suppliers and expanding client base.
Palmer has enjoyed a career which has seen him lead a number of international transport and logistics companies through extended periods of growth. He was managing director at Bibby Distribution and DTS Logistics before joining Suttons Group, where he successfully led the company into new markets, significantly growing the business and its portfolio of customers.
Steve Granite, Abbey Logistics Group chief executive, said: “Our latest appointments demonstrate our commitment to creating a logistics provider our customers can depend upon. Andrew has an outstanding record as a business leader. He brings valuable experience of leading companies during periods of growth and I know he will provide a substantial contribution to the Abbey Group board.
“Michael’s appointment marks our commitment to further growth and development. He will help to effectively convey the competitive advantage we can give our customers, nurture relationships with prospective clients and communicate our success stories and the value we deliver.”
Earlier this month, British Sugar chose Abbey Logistics Group to manage its bulk sugar movements across the nation in a long-term deal.
