CH&Co, the privately owned corporate and commercial caterer, has announced that Richard Franks is joining high street café group Apostrõphe as managing director.

Following handover, Apostrõphe’s chief executive Amir Chen will leave the business. CH&Co entered the joint venture with Apostrõphe in January 2012 before buying the business outright from Chen and the shareholders earlier this year.

Franks worked at EAT during a time of rapid growth and was most recently at the Harris + Hoole coffee chain, which has also enjoyed expansion and now boasts more than 40 outlets across south-east England.

His role at CH&Co will entail maximising opportunities in premium speciality coffee across a range of channels.

The business operates more than 200 outlets at sites including Gatwick Airport, the Tower of London and Hampton Court Palace, while Apostrõphe operates from 23 locations.

“Now is a great time for Apostrõphe to make its next leap forward and we are delighted to have attracted someone of Richard’s talent,” said Stuart Lawson, group CEO of CH&Co. “We also thank Amir, who committed to stay with Apostrõphe to ensure a smooth transition of ownership. Richard will make a hugely positive impact on the business.”
