Cybake bakery management solutions supplier RedBlack Software has appointed Sandy Scott as chief executive officer.

Scott, who has also invested in the company, has many years’ experience in nurturing and growing companies in the business software industry, said RedBlack.

His previous roles have included managing director of HR and payroll business Peterborough Software, where he oversaw the merger into Rebus Software.

Scott was chief executive of Leicester-based recruitment software solution firm Safe Computing from 2002. In his time at the business he led a management buyout, and the sale of the £18m turnover company to The Access Group a year ago.

Scott has taken up the role of CEO of RedBlack Software with immediate effect. His long-time business collaborator Mark James, who was company secretary at Safe Computing, has been appointed financial controller of RedBlack, which also supplies the BakePlan forecasting application.

Sandy Scott has many years’ experience nurturing and growing companies in the business software industry. He has a strong track record in the development, sales and marketing of successful software solutions.

“The arrival of a CEO of Sandy’s calibre is a serious coup for our company,” said RedBlack Software founder and MD Jane Tyler. “His strategic expertise is already being felt across all our areas of operation.”

Tyler, who is vice-chair of the British Society of Baking, added: “In recent times, we have transitioned to a cloud-based model, broken into the international grocery retail market and won investment from Innovate UK.

“With Sandy’s knowledge and direction, we are now even better positioned to take our businesses to a whole new level, both at home and internationally.”
