Premier Foods, which owns Mr Kipling, has scooped the Bakery Manufacturing Company of the Year Award at the Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards (FMEAs) 2015.
The company beat off competition from Butt Foods, Deli Santé, Finsbury Food Group, Ginsters and The Village Bakery at the event staged at the Lancaster Hotel, London.
Mike Stones, group editor of Food Manufacture, said: “The Food Manufacture Excellence Awards, now in their fifteenth year, go from strength-to-strength as a showcase of industry achievement. It’s too easy to forget that food and drink manufacturing makes a bigger contribution to the UK economy than the higher profile aerospace and automotive sectors combined.
“Our food and drink manufacturing Oscars help to set that record straight, while celebrating the best of the best in the UK’s largest manufacturing sector.
“Premier Foods (Mr Kipling) won the coveted Bakery manufacturing company of the year in the industry’s Oscars thanks partly to its inspirational edible poster campaign.”
