High street sandwich firm Subway has appointed Peter Dowding country director for the UK and Ireland.
Dowding will be based at Subway’s headquarters in Cambridge, where he will support the growth and expansion of the brand - working with a team of development agents across the nation.
He has a “wealth of experience” in the retail and drinks industries, according to Subway, and has worked with international brands including Carlsberg, Britvic Soft Drinks and Coffee Nation (now part of coffee chain Costa).
Dowding said he was excited to join the Subway team and looks forward to helping the firm build on its success.
“It is one of the largest and best-known franchise brands, with over 2,300 stores across the UK and Ireland,” he said.
“I see my role as facilitating further sustainable growth, with both individual and multi-unit owners, as well as our corporate partners.”
Subway last month launched its first ever festive sub, named the Festive Feast, in stores nationwide.
