Yorkshire-based Thomas the Baker has raised over £11,500 for cancer charity Marie Curie in the last year.
The Ryedale-based bakery took part in a variety of fundraising events, including organising sponsored walks and creating daffodil cupcakes, to support the charity’s Great Daffodil Appeal.
Chris Chapman of the bakery said: “We set a fundraising target of £10,000 and we’re absolutely delighted that we’ve beaten this.
“This is the seventh year our staff have raised money for great causes, and we’ve donated £64,000 in that time. We’ve really enjoyed working with Marie Curie, and are over the moon that the money raised will help nurses to deliver more care.”
In 2013, Thomas the Baker worked with Michelin-starred chef Jeff Baker to create a pint-sized Christmas pudding.
