The British Society of Baking spring conference will be held from 11-12 April, with pre-dinner drinks and dinner at the Village Hotel, in Ashton-under-Lyne, and the conference programme the next day at Tameside College.

Bakery lecturer Lorna Jones will speak on what Tameside College can offer both students and the industry, while Dr Nigel Davies, manufacturing and technical director for Muntons, will discuss ’Staying Green’. Vera Foreman, training and apprenticeship coordinator at Morrisons, will speak about ’A future in in-store baking’.

In the afternoon a panel discussion will be followed by a talk from BSB vice-chairman Sara Autton From Bakery Student to Technical Specialist and a bakery-themed Dragon’s Den, where four Tameside bakery students will present new product ideas to the ’dragons’.
