The Bertinet Kitchen & Bakery is due to open a new outlet in Bath at the end of November.

Run by chef and baker Richard Bertinet and his wife Jo Harrod Bertinet, the new premises, situated next to the train station, will be its second standalone bakery outlet and will be branded as The Bertinet Bakery & Café.

Jo Harrod Bertinet told British Baker that the premises were smaller than its other bakery outlet, and would offer a similar range, but with more of an emphasis on food-to-go, due to its location. "It will offer products such as croques monsieur, a range of pasties, quiches and sausage rolls, for example. We may offer a small range of sandwiches, but it won’t be a sandwich bar.

“The new outlet will have around eight to 10 covers inside, with more outside in the new square,” she said, adding that they hoped the outlet would be open in time for the Bath Christmas Market.

The new bakery is situated in The Vaults a new contemporary dining quarter, which forms part of a new mixed use development at SouthGate in Bath.
