Bakers’ Fair, supported by Norbake, is back at the Bolton Arena this year and takes place on Sunday 3 October (9.30am-3.30pm). The event, now in its fourth year, is free to attend and is the UK’s only autumn exhibition for progressive and professional independent bakery companies, cafés and coffee shops. Whether you want some ideas for Christmas or a new mixer, you will find it here.
More than 350 visitors attended the Fair in Manchester in October 2009 and this year looks set to be busier and better.
The Richemont Club of Great Britain will be hosting its 7th Annual Competition, with live demonstrations and competition classes being judged throughout the day.
There will also be a host of speakers and demonstrations at the Stage Area, including: Mike Holling of Birds of Derby and chairman of the NAMB; Tracey Sharpe, Innoseal; Edward Chatwin, Chatwins; Claire Brown, Epos Solutions; and John Robertshaw, Bako NW.
There are several new exhibitors at the show this year, including specialist shopfitting, refrigeration and catering equipment company A-Cold Distributors and Polish equipment firm Masz, which is new to the UK market and is bringing its equipment all the way from Poland to the show.
Among the other exhibitors are Reynards, Rank Hovis, Renshaw, Jiffy, CJ’s Specialist Vehicles and Mono Equipment, which are returning to the show this year.
Sponsor of the Stage Area, Dawn Foods, will also be providing a wide range of finished goods.

The Richemont Club of Great Britain Annual Competition
The Richemont Club of Great Britain’s Annual Competition will again provide one of the highlights of Bakers’ Fair, with a combination of live demonstrations and competition classes. The competitions are open to Club members and staff within their businesses and see staff members from the same businesses pitched against each other.
This year will see the return of the Live Cake Decoration Challenge, where a team of two will be required to work together to produce a celebration cake in three hours. However, the theme will only be revealed just before they begin. They will then have 15 minutes to come up with a design. The British Baker Trophy will also be up for grabs in a class open to all young bakers aged up to 21.
