Crieff-based Campbell’s Bakery in Perthshire has been awarded the British Confectioners’ Association (BCA) cup in recognition of its consistently high quality products.
The cup, which is awarded annually, was presented to Iain Campbell, managing director, at the recent BCA Annual General Meeting in St Andrews.
The BCA said that among the products the bakery excelled at were decorated Christmas biscuits, steak pies, morning rolls and fruit tartlets.
Campbell said: “This is a huge honour for Campbell’s Bakery. The BCA sets very high standards and has some of Britain’s finest bakeries among its membership. To be recognised by the UK’s best bakers and to lift the BCA Cup, really is the icing on the cake.”
The competition is run over a year, with five meetings organised by a different host business each time.
