Country Style Foods achieved an increase in profit after tax of 27%, to £3.8m, for the full year to 30 April 2013.
In its latest accounts, filed at Companies House, the manufacturer of branded, licensed and private-label frozen bakery products, increased turnover from £95.3m in 2012 to £103.5m in 2013.
Gross profit stood at £20.9m (2012: £19.2m), while operating profit increased from £3.7m to £5.19m.
The majority of its turnover is from business in the UK - £100.2m - with around £3.2m coming from Europe.
Country Style Foods has also seen a large increase in its staff numbers, predominantly on the production and distribution side, increasing by 154 employees to 1,142 in total.
The firm said it would continue to improve the standard of its staff training and believed it was important to maintain and improve the individual skills and dedication of their workforce.
Since the close of the financial accounting period referred to above, the firm has made a couple of acquisitions: Poole’s Pies in August 2013, and Sparks Confectioners just before Christmas. For the full story on the acquisition of Sparks, see the next issue of British Baker, out on 10 January.
