For those who needed more time – the deadline for National Cupcake Championships entries has been extended.
Cupcake makers now have another two weeks to get their recipes in, with a new deadline of 31 July.
There are six categories to choose from: Classic; Chocolate; Free From; Made with Alcohol; Seasonal; and Children’s. Bakers can enter as many categories as they like at a cost of £15+VAT each time. Bakers must have a registered UK business to enter.
A panel of judges will whittle hopefuls down to 10 finalists in each category, who will then be invited to the grand final at the Bakels test bakery in Bicester on 14 September – the first day of National Cupcake Week.
Judges will perform the all-important taste test on the day to find a winner of each category as well as an overall champion.
Finalists will also be treated to two chocolate workshops by event sponsor Barry Callebaut, worth up to £300 per person.
The event is also sponsored by online ordering company Hello and… and hosted by Bakels.
