Zurich airport will play host to a special event celebrating the world of chocolate later this year. Held from 15 September to 31 October, 2006, the Soul of Chocolate exhibition will feature several stands providing passengers with information about the history, origin, processing and refinement of chocolate, as well as samples to taste.

The event will be supported by shows, demonstrations and various sampling stands, where visitors will be able to discover the different ways it can be used to create exciting confectionery products.

During the exhibition, bakery and confectionery apprentices from the Zurich area will have the opportunity to display their chocolate creations in a competition called Switzerland and Chocolate.

These will be exhibited to the general public and judged by a panel of confectionery experts and representatives from Zurich airport, as well as by passengers. Air travel prizes will be awarded to the winners.

As part of the judging process, passengers will have the opportunity to cast a vote and win one of 50 prizes of 10kg of chocolate.

Soul of Chocolate is the first in a series of annual Best of Switzerland exhibitions, each of which will feature a typical Swiss product.

The event is organised by Confiserie Sprüngli, Lindt & Sprüngli, airport retailer the Nuance Group and Unique, the company which runs Zurich airport.
