The Federation of Bakers (FOB) is to hold its annual conference and lunch on 2 June in Leeds.
The event will focus on challenges facing the bread retail category, with presentations from a number of top speakers including Dr Clive Black, head of research at Shore Capital Markets. Edward Garner, director of communications at Kantar Worldpanel and James Cawthorne, senior bakery category director at Asda, will also speak ahead of panel discussions and the opportunity for questions in a Q&A session.
The day will include a drinks reception and an opportunity to view the Royal Armouries galleries before concluding with lunch and networking opportunities.
Gordon Polson, director at the Federation of Bakers, said: “The annual conference is a great opportunity to reflect on the events and developments of the last year, allowing us to be in an even stronger position to face the challenges of the coming year. Once again, we are putting together a great line-up of experts from across the industry who will be able to share their invaluable knowledge and expertise.”
Broadcaster Dominic Laurie will host the event at the Royal Armouries, which is held in association with sponsors AB Mauri, Baker Perkins, LeSaffre, Zeelandia and Zeppelin Systems UK.
Laurie said: “I am delighted to be hosting The Federation of Bakers’ annual conference this year. The bakery sector is an important part of our economy and this is a great opportunity to look at the key issues and challenges facing the industry in the year ahead.”
