Pret A Manger has launched a vegan flatbread as one of its monthly speciality sandwiches.
The Vegan Chilli & Avocado Flatbread (pictured) is being sold alongside a vegetarian Chargrilled Veg & Pesto Baguette, until 4 September, under the brand’s Chef’s Specials selection.
The flatbread, which retails for £3.99, contains avocado, charred corn & black bean salsa, chilli ‘sin’ carne, pickled onions, red peppers and spinach, while the £3.50 baguette comprises chargrilled vegetables, green basil pesto, rocket and mature Italian cheese.
Pret, which committed to make all of its Chef’s Specials vegetarian or vegan from April – September, has also announced it is to extend its successful veggie fridge trial. The initiative saw the roll-out of green refrigeration cabinets containing non-meat food options to 250 of the chain’s 325 stores in June.
“The trial was originally scheduled to be in place until the end of July and has now been extended until the end of August,” said a Pret spokeswoman.
