The Handmade Cake Company launched a new Blackberry and Almond Slice at the Convenience Retailing Show in Birmingham.
Made to the same recipe as Handmade’s larger traybake version, the slice has a six-day ambient shelf-life from frozen, whereas the rest of the individually wrapped slice have 12 days’ ambient shelf-life.
The firm is also about to launch a new Banana and Walnut cake and Raspberry and Coconut Slice, made to the same recipes as their larger existing format, but in a food-to-go size. Sales director Simon Law said the company is merely reacting to demand.
