== Brooklands winners ==

Sugarcraft students at Brooklands College in Surrey triumphed at the UK’s culinary competition, Hospitality Salon Culinaire, taking two gold, three silver and four bronze medals. Lecturer Jane Hatton, who guided them on their wedding cake decorating work for the competition, said she was very proud of their achievements.

== Cranks’ facelift ==

Vegetarian brand Cranks has given its products a facelift to emphasise their healthy credentials. Its premium range, including sandwiches, bread, salads, prepared meals and pasta sauces now display a ’Real Feel Good Recipes’ strapline, using black and bright-coloured packaging. The products are sold in coffee shops and supermarkets.

== Delonghi giveaway ==

British Baker can announce that the four winners of the Delonghi toaster giveaway in association with Kingsmill are: Margaret Ann Flounders, Blackwater, Surrey; Mrs H S Turner, Leigh-on-Sea, Essex; M J Adams, Winchester, Hampshire; and Margaret Pullen, Kerry Food, Poole. They should be receiving their toasters shortly.

== Isobel Copeman ==

It is with regret that we announce the death of popular baking industry figure Isobel Copeman. Her husband John Copeman was grandson of the founder of British Baker and a former editor, secretary of the British Confectioners’ Association for 50 years and Master of the Worshipful Company of Bakers. Her funeral is on Thursday 5 March at 11.45am at Randalls Park Crematorium in Leatherhead. Family flowers only.
