French boulangerie and patis-serie chain Maison Blanc has announced that it has won new business with Sainsbury’s.
The company has just deve-loped a new dessert range for the supermarket, which will go into 350 stores under the brand name Maison Patisserie. It will be the first time the firm has supplied Sainsbury’s. It is also set to expand its range and cakes and desserts for Waitrose.
Maison Blanc doesn’t currently supply its bread to anyone, but Simon Wilkinson, chief operating officer at Kuwait-based Kout Food Group, which owns Maison Blanc, said there was a good reason: "We have been focusing on getting the quality right before we take it to potential customers. Until we’re 100% happy, we’re not putting it anywhere else," he said.
