National Cupcake Week caught the attention of the nation’s media last week – after it appeared on television twice and saw social media get fully behind it.

The week kicked off with organisers British Baker announcing who had made it to the finals of the National Cupcake Championships at the NEC in Birmingham on 8 November and an appearance on London Live.

And, National Cupcake Week also featured on the award-winning  ITV’s This Morning, its flagship daytime TV show, which is watched on average by 1.5 million people.

Emily Johnson, winner of the National Cupcake Championships in 2012, decorated cakes with hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes. She said: ““It’s great to have a chance to celebrate the humble cupcake and it was a great week for us.”
