A new self-service bakery and coffee shop concept called Bake&TAKE has launched in Manchester, with hundreds more outlets planned for the UK.

Master franchise partners Steve Mahon and Robin Page signed on the dotted line in January, with their first store opening close to Piccadilly Station in Manchester.

According to the firm’s website, Mahon and Page are looking to open around 30 outlets per year in the UK and Ireland, following the chain’s success in Germany. Known as backWerk in Germany, it has amassed an estate of around 300 stores over 10 years, across Germany, Switzerland, Austria and The Netherlands.

The shops offer around 300 products, and Mahon and Page are concentrating their openings on local high streets, shopping parades or edge-of-town shopping developments.
