Lancashire food business The Northern Dough Co has secured a deal to list its fresh dough with online retailer Ocado.
Its Original, Chilli-infused, Rosemary-infused and Wholemeal doughs are now available through Ocado, as well as in Whole Foods Market, farm shops and delis across the UK.
The firm, run by husband and wife duo Amy and Chris Cheadle, was established in 2011 to address a gap in the market for a ready-to-use fresh dough product, which could be used to make pizzas.
The dough is produced and frozen at their bakery in Bacup and can be defrosted, rolled out and topped by customers at home.
Amy Cheadle said: “We started the business with a small amount of money and a lot of determination that with a strong idea and a lot of passion for great food we could launch a national brand.
“The fact that such fantastic brands as Ocado and Whole Foods have supported our vision by stocking our range is incredibly exciting and, we hope, just the start of our business plans.”
