Crantock Bakery has launched an "un-Cornish" pasty in reponse to customer demand. The Crantock Armadillo marks a new style of pasty, as it is top-crimped, rather than crimped along the side.

"We know the armadillo style isn’t Cornish and we would never pass it off as such. However, we have been asked by our customers to produce an armadillo-style pasty," said national sales manager Leigh Loomes.

The pasty is available with a filling of either steak, potatoes, onion and swede, or cheese and onion.
