The Great British Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood is to be the focus of a new baking series on Channel 4.
Commissioned by The Great British Bake Off producers Love Productions, A Baker’s Life will comprise five episodes in which Hollywood opens up about his life.
Channel 4 said it was delighted to be able to give the audience a fresh insight into Paul’s life before Bake Off, and how he came the baker he is today.
Throughout the series, Hollywood will visit the kitchens that inspired him and the chefs who taught him to bake. From his Merseyside roots to the Bake Off tent, he will be cooking new treats and reminiscing over the recipes that represent pivotal moments in his life.
“Paul’s credentials as one of Britain’s most knowledgeable bakers are beyond doubt,” Richard McKerrow, creative director & executive producer at Love Productions, said.
“How he came to become such a great baker with a passion for everything to do with baking is a fascinating story that hasn’t been told. We’re excited to be working with Paul and Channel 4 to tell that story.”
Hollywood will welcome Prue Leith to the judging panel when the Channel 4 series of the GBBO is set to be broadcast in Autumn 2017.
