French sweet decorations company PCB Creation is now selling its products in the UK, after signing a deal with distributor Classic Fine Foods (CFF).
The firm, which specialises in decorations for pastry products, launched its new spring/summer collection, along with CFF, at the Sketch Gallery in London, which PCB already supplies. Offering products such as ready-to-use chocolate decorations, transfer sheets, printed marshmallow squares and bakery moulds, PCB is targeting higher-end bakeries and patisseries, as well as chocolatiers and restaurants.
CFF general manager Olivier Batel said a current trend in decorations was the personalisation of products. He added companies were looking to offer products that were different and bespoke. "It gives you a greater edge over your competitors," he said, adding that PCB wanted to "raise the game in the UK" on decoration.
As well as its catalogue of products, PCB offers a bespoke service, so bakeries and patisseries can develop decorations with, for example, their own logos on.
World Patisserie Champion Franck Michel, holder of the prestigious Meilleur Ouvrier de France title, has been working with the firm to develop the products. His new creations include a cushion made with chocolate, which Batel said is a new style of decoration to the market.
PCB’s production site, close to Strasbourg, employs around 150 staff and has a turnover of around €25m. It exports to 85 countries.
