Pieminister has teamed up with England Rugby sponsor 02, to launch two limited-edition breakfast pies, ready for the Rugby World Cup.

The Bristol-based pie maker has developed a Full English Breakfast Pie, which contains baked beans, sausage, smoked cheddar cheese and smoked bacon in a rich, dark sauce, and a vegetarian Morning Glory breakfast pie, made with baked beans, button mushrooms and smoked cheddar cheese, also in a rich dark sauce.

The firm hopes the pies will help fans ‘Get up for England’ when the team plays New Zealand. An on-pack promotion will also give fans the opportunity to win a trip to New Zealand to have breakfast with England players courtesy of 02.

The pies will also be included in up to 50,000 free special England Rugby Breakfast Packs for O2 customers. For the chance to win one of the packs, fans on 02 should visit www.GetUpForEngland.co.uk or text PIE to 2020.

“We’ve designed these grab-sized pies for O2, to be hand-held, leaving fans with a free hand for a pint or a cuppa, but I’ll be eating mine this September with grilled tomatoes, seasoned field mushrooms and a fried egg for a new take on the traditional English breakfast,” said Pieminister founder Tristan Hogg.

Both pies are now available in Tesco stores nationwide.
