Proper Cornish Food Company, has won a major contract with Sainsbury’s, which will see them supply the supermarket with a Taste the difference, Traditional Cornish Pasty.
The pasty, handmade in Cornwall, will be available in stores nationwide from summer, and has been produced using locally sourced ingredients where possible.
Commenting on Proper Cornish, Thomas Munoz the buyer for pies and quiches from Sainsbury’s said: “The company’s focus on using only the finest, natural ingredients and its traditional approach to pasty-making makes them a key supplier for Sainsbury’s going forward."
"The introduction of a traditional Cornish pasty to the range meets the growing demand for top-quality, convenient food that can be eaten on the move.”
Proper Cornish Food Company, based in Bodmin, is the UK’s leading handmade pasty manufacturer, and this new deal is another step forward in its expansion plans.
