Cornish baker Rowe’s is to sponsor another two local sports clubs - Redruth Rugby Club and Penryn RFC. Rowes’s already sponsors local clubs, Cornish Pirates and Penryn Athletic and the two new acquisitions have seen its sponsorship deals double. “As a company with a proud Cornish heritage, we’re delighted to be in a position to be able to help support these iconic Cornish sports teams,” said Paul Pearce, marketing manager for Rowe’s.

“We use local ingredients wherever possible in our food and this sense of Cornish provenance extends into all areas of our business. From the Cornish Pirates who we hope will be knocking on the door of the Premiership next season, to local grass roots football and rugby, it’s fantastic to be able to lend our support to local teams of all shapes and sizes.”

The sponsorship deal, mutually beneficial for both sides, will see the bakery’s name on team shirts. Rowe’s already provide match catering for the Cornish Pirates and sell the clubs’ tickets in its bakery shops in Cornwall.

“Links between businesses and their local sports clubs can only be a good thing and we are looking forward to working with all four teams over the coming seasons,” Pearce adds.

The bakers operate 17 bakery shops in Cornwall and Devon, supplying major supermarkets and independent retailers.
