The British Nutrition Foundation (BNF) is to hold a mini conference on the subject of food taxes and the role they have in battling obesity.
The event, which take’s place at Governors Hall, St Thomas’ Hospital on Monday, 7 April will include talks by Professor Richard Tiffin, University of Reading, Professor Judy Buttriss, British Nutrition Foundation and Kate Halliwell, Food and Drink Federation.
The BNF has arranged the conference following the recent call by Dame Sally Davies, England’s chief medical officer, to consider introduction of a ‘sugar tax’ on foods and drinks to help combat the nation’s obesity crisis. It will bring together food experts and people from the wider food and legislative sectors.
