Commercial production kitchen The Olive Grows is celebrating its third birthday by hosting an Open Kitchen event on 3 May.
From 5pm onwards, guests are invited to the Sovereign Park premises in London to sample products made by the food and drink businesses that use the premises, and to meet, share ideas and network.
“If you have ever contemplated starting up a food and drink business, or if you want to source food and drink from creative and emerging cuisines, this is the place to come,” said The Olive Grows.
The kitchens offer flexible hire options from as little as four hours, and can be useful for start-ups making to break out of their domestic kitchens or over-spill facilities for established firms.
In the three years since its launch, the kitchen has seen over 130 food and drink businesses, including a number of bakery businesses, pass through its doors.
Launched by Olga Astaniotis and George Poole in 2008, the premises offer a professional, fully equipped and accredited working kitchen, and a network of contacts and suppliers.
Retail and wholesale brands that have launched from this entrepreneurial springboard include Joe and Seph’s – gourmet popcorn makers; Stewed! – Alan Rosenthals’ range of premium, internationally influenced stews; and Wild Peacock – a newly formed premier catering company serving private events and the corporate sector.
