Cake manufacturer Bright Blue Foods has been acquired for an undisclosed sum by private equity investor Endless.
3 Costa could increase prices to combat NLW
Costa’s parent company Whitbread announced that the National Living Wage will have knock-on effects in the business when it hits next April. Plans are being discussed for how the company will cope with the payout.
4 Burton’s delays planned TV campaigns
Burton’s Biscuit Company has delayed TV campaigns that were due to air this summer, British Baker has learned. Ads to support the early-2015 launches of Jammie Bakes and Maryland Soft Baked were due to start in July and June respectively with as £6.5m spend combined. More information has been requested.
5 Family company forced into name change
A family company in Ipswich unknowingly launched under the name Barista & Baker. Contract catering company Elior UK gave it eight months to change as it had already registered the similar name of Baker & Barista.
