Country Style Foods is continuing negotiations with staff at its Stockton plant, following a dispute over terms and conditions.
Union regional officer Alan Milne said the new package is being considered by union
members, who will decide whether or not to accept it after Christmas.
Members of the Bakers Food and Allied Workers Union have already held two strikes at the frozen desserts plant, and had agreed to hold a third. However, that strike was called off when the board of directors offered a new package to workers.
The supplier wants to bring in its standard terms and conditions to the plant, which it bought out of receivership from Hibernia Foods in 2003. Country Style also operates factories in Leeds and Grimsby. And it owns a former Hibernia site in Peterlee, which it loaned to County Durham-based Peters Cathedral Bakers until September.
A decision has yet to be taken on the future of the Peterlee site, according to Country Style chairman Tony Wood.
