Richard and John Waterfield proved themselves every bit as handy on the golf course as they are in the bakery at the British Society of Baking’s Golf Day.

On the day, staged at the world-famous Brabazon golf course at The Belfry, Richard beat off competition from more than 120 other golfers to win the BSB Trophy with a stableford score of 39. Richard was then joined on the winners’ rostrum by John, Nick Bird and Robin Pitts, as they won the team event as well, with a combined score of 86.

"Overall it was a great day for the Waterfields," said organiser Keith Houliston from British Bakels. "Competition was very tight, as Richard actually tied with Steve Godfrey and Rob Pollard on 39 points and only won because he had a better score on the back nine holes."

The prizes were presented by NA president Mike Holling, who also took part. No mean golfer himself, Mike plays off 24 and paid tribute to organiser Keith Houliston for "setting up yet another great event".
