Birds Bakery has entered the world of weddings with a range of customisable favours starting in price from £2.50.
The line-up includes chocolate mice and unicorn cupcakes, chocolate-topped shortbread hearts and macarons. Belgian chocolate favours are also available in milk, dark, white, ruby, gold caramel and strawberry-flavoured variants.
Couples can also choose the shape of the favours and whether they would like the sweet treats presented in either a ribboned box or a bag adorned with bespoke stickers, the bakery said. Discounts are available for orders of more than 100, it added, and the favours can be ordered for delivery and collection depending on the postcode and date.
The range has been unveiled as the UK experiences a surge in weddings of 205% as many couples were forced to postpone celebrations during the pandemic.
“We’re proud to have been part of people’s lives in the East Midlands for well over 100 years, helping provide lunchtime essentials, weekend treats and catering for parties and special events like the Jubilee,” said Mike Holling, sales and marketing director at Birds Bakery.
“It’s great that we can now extend that to the most special of occasions – weddings. Our excellent team of bakers have worked hard to develop a range that can be fully customised, making each favour really personal.”
Birds Bakery, which was named Bakery Retailer of the Year at the Baking Industry Awards 2021, has 62 stores across the East Midlands. Last month, it named Canine Partners, which matches disabled people with expertly trained assistance dogs, as its charity partner for this year. It will be selling paw-shaped chocolate lollies in all stores across the East Midlands, where 10p from each sale will be donated to the charity.
