Bread Ahead has become the latest bakery to partner with premium convenience delivery firm Zapp.
London consumers will be able to order Bread Ahead products including croissants, cookies and sourdough loaves for delivery in minutes, 24-hours a day, seven days a week using the Zapp app.
Founded a decade ago in Borough Market, Bread Ahead is known for products such as deep-filled doughnuts, golden sourdough loaves and pastries. It currently has sites across the capital, including a bakery school, and has also expanded into the Middle East.

“We started Bread Ahead to bring great bread to Londoners and have always focused on keeping things simple and honest,” said Bread Ahead founder and owner Matthew Jones. “Partnering with Zapp gives our customers the chance to enjoy our bakes wherever they are, whenever they want them.”
Bread Ahead joins a line-up of brands in Zapp’s bread and bakery section including Gail’s, Birley Bakery, Jones’, Fiona Cairns, and Lina Stores.
Founded in 2020, Zapp is backed by leading venture capital and growth equity investors, and celebrities including Sir Lewis Hamilton.
Described as ‘like a department store in your pocket’, it offers ranges including premium spirits and fine wines, beauty and skincare, luxury gifts and delicatessen. The business operates fulfilment centres across the capital to enable these products to be delivered swiftly.
“Bread Ahead represents everything we admire in a London brand - quality, craftsmanship and a deep connection to the city,” said Zapp director Rowan Lawson. “We’re delighted to bring their iconic products to Zapp and offer customers another way to enjoy exceptional food, delivered instantly.”
In January, Bread Ahead was named one of the 13 best artisan bakeries in the Britain at The Artisan Collective event. More than 100 specialists from artisan bakers to suppliers, consultants, and lecturers were hand-picked by British Baker to vote for their favourite artisan bakeries.
