Doughnut Time has partnered with Deliveroo for Business to create a doughnut-bagel hybrid it has dubbed as a “festive hangover aide”.
The ‘doughgel’ is made with vanilla and maple dough, filled with coffee-marinated bacon and topped with pecans – ingredients the companies said had been chosen to provide a boost in form of caffeine and protein for those suffering with a “dreaded desk hangover”.
They’re available exclusively on Deliveroo during the festive party season and will also be handed out at train stations across the UK.
“Party season is upon us and the office Christmas party recovery is a time-honoured tradition as reliable as the changing of the clocks. To fuel the nation’s workers during the worst part of their hangover, we’ve developed the ultimate treat to aide recovery,” said Joe Groves at Deliveroo.
“If the Doughgel turns out to be as popular as we expect it to be, it won’t be long until we see it on the shelves of every bakery around the country.”
Doughnut Time is known for its unusual creations having unveiled a trio of Mega Doughnuts earlier this year and even a cricket-topped creation in 2017 to mark the return of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
