The Western View Café has opened in Eastbourne, East Sussex.

Atemporary replacement for the Wish Tower venue, which was demolished last year, the café is expected to remain for at least two years.

Eastbourne Borough Council continues to search for a permanent building to replace the original Wish Tower Cafe, which was demolished after falling into a state of disrepair.

The launch on 19 July was attended by Eastbourne Borough Council’s tourism spokesperson Carolyn Heaps. Special guest John Foyle also visited, whose family donated to the Wish Tower Café and Sun Lounge built in memorial for those who lost their lives in World War II.

The Western View has 26 inside seats and more than 100 outside on a terrace, with stunning sea views.

Open from 10am–6pm, the café will offer hot and cold food, as well as alcoholic drinks.
