Just Desserts has secured a deal to supply Barkers of Northallerton’s new concept bistro with a range of handcrafted pastries and desserts.
The Shipley-based bakery business will be supplying a selection of products to the high street department store’s recently-opened 1882 Café and Bistro, including fresh fruit tarts, gateaux, chocolate truffle tortes, lemon meringues and tiramisu squares.
James O’Dwyer, managing director at Just Desserts, said: “We are delighted to have secured a slice of business within a well-respected department store such as Barkers. Its pedigree is second to none in the north of England and beyond, and we are proud to work with the 1882 Café & Bistro catering team to deliver delicious desserts for its discerning customers.”
Paul Nicholls, catering operations manager at Barkers of Northallerton, said: “We are very impressed with the extensive range of luxury products which are handmade by the baking team at Just Desserts. They certainly have the wow factor and are already proving popular with our customers. As a privately-owned, Yorkshire family-run business, it’s great to be able to work with a like-minded company which produces high-quality desserts with Yorkshire provenance.”
British Baker reported last month that Just Desserts saw sales of its cakes increase by 60% in the last three financial quarters.
