A new Danish kitchen and bakery concept has opened in North Kensington.

Snaps & Rye, a Danish style outlet will offer customers organic rye bread, Stone Age bread and Danish pastries, baked from scratch on site at the Golborne Road shop.

It said it would produce around 20 loaves a day, and is the first Snaps & Rye shop to open set up by a husband and wife duo.

The shop will also offer breakfast options of Øllebrød, a traditional porridge recipe made with the dark rye bread. It will also offer Danish pastries known as Tebirkes, a puff pastry sopped with poppy seeds and filled with sugar-marzipan paste.

The venue is also licensed to serve alcohol, and will deliver locally via a Bullkitt cargo bicycle.

The shop will open Tuesday to Sunday, and will also sell a selection of Danish books and home accessories.
