Tesco reportedly opened a new trial food-to-go format at its Chester Frodsham Square site last week, which offers goods from its in-store bakeries.
It will also feature sandwiches, a salad bar, Krispy Kreme doughnut stand, and Costa Express self-serve coffee machine, according to British Baker’s sister title The Grocer, with product ranges to change throughout the day to cater to different meal occasions.
Last week, the retailer also revealed plans to overhaul 850 of its in-store bakeries, to offer a wider range of continental bread products.
It is to invest millions of pounds in the new bakery format, which will be called Your Bakery at Tesco, and will extend its current speciality breads line from 10 to 30 products.
