Costa Coffee is looking to redefine breakfast and brunch in 2025 with a new toastie, stuffed croissant, muffin, and biscuit rolling out on its latest menu, launching on 9 January.
The business, which last year began trialling 24-hour trading at its drive-thru store in Leicester, has skipped on Veganuary this time around and unveiled a new All-Day Breakfast Toastie featuring pork sausages and smoked bacon, free-range egg, Hollandaise-style sauce, and ketchup, all in cheese-topped white bread.
It doubled down on its meaty menu items for 2025 with a new Wiltshire Ham & Mature Cheddar Cheese Croissant, which it described as perfect for a delightful start to the day or a mid-morning pick-me-up. “Whether you’re craving a savoury breakfast boost or a midday treat, our new January menu has you covered,” commented Nishant Bhatia, Costa’s global food and beverage innovation director.
For customers with a sweet tooth, the coffee chain has introduced a new Banana & Chocolate Muffin that comes with a chocolate filling. It has also added new Iced Gingerbread Biscuits adorned with messages of ‘Love’ and ‘Hug Me’, set to be a popular gift for loved ones around Valentine’s Day.
Meanwhile, the ‘fan favourite’ Orange & Raspberry Victoria Sponge makes yet another return to the Costa menu after being brought back for a limited time time last summer.
A £4.99 breakfast bundle pairs a croissant (or slice of toast) with a small or medium hot coffee, while a £5.99 lunchtime bundle comprises a toastie and coffee – these can both be upgraded to include a large hot coffee.
Accompanying the bakery launches is the brand-new Spanish Latte, made with condensed milk, espresso and a dusting of cappuccino powder, which is inspired by the traditional café bombón drink from Spain.
Costa took the number one spot in British Baker’s list of the top 75 players in the out-of-home bakery market, operating a total of 2,677 stores by the end of 2023. As of the start of this year, it has grown its estate to 2,793 outlets.
