The Poundbakery has been expanding its presence, opening three new shops this summer.
Owned by Sayers the Bakers, the brand opened a new site in Walsall, West Midlands in June, and in Crewe, Cheshire and Erdington, West Midlands earlier this month.
In an interactive map of shops on the Poundbakery website, it reads: “We haven’t any shops in this area yet, but watch this space…” for areas in the East Midlands, East, South East, South West and Scotland.
The bargain bakery has also launched a new healthier range, with products like a ham wrap and chicken salad sandwich, promising to be less than 500 calories. A new breakfast range has also been launched, which includes cheese on toast and pastry products.
This comes after Greggs the bakers praised its healthier range as driving sales in recent results.
The bakery sells all its products for £1, or offers deals like three doughnuts for £1. It has more than 80 shops spreading across the North West, Yorkshire, Wales and the Midlands, which operate from the central bakery in Bolton.
British Baker has approached the bakery for comment and information about its plans.
